E-skateboarding is rapidly gaining popularity among city commuters and adventure enthusiasts alike, thanks to its distinctive features and advantages.
Q: Steven, can you tell us a little about your background and how you became interested in e-skateboarding?
A: I started eskating when I needed transportation to go to work. Which was too close to drive but too far for walking. And then, Covid lockdowns happened. And I needed to get out of the house and to find something fun to do that doesn't require socializing.
Q: What was your overall riding experience with the Wowgo AT2 Plus?
A: Amazing. Versatile in wheel choices and plenty power in acceleration. Really love the purple accent look. Also the flexible deck made it a dream carving board. A+ all around.
Q: What do you think sets e-skateboarding apart from other types of skateboarding or other action sports?
A: Well, I'm lazy. I don't like running but I'd like to get outside. So e-skate enabled that for me. Plus Eskate stance just look a lot cooler than a bicycle or electric unicycle.
Q: What do you think are some of the biggest misconceptions about e-skateboarding, and how do you address them?
A: Almost all eskates are not completely 100% water proof. Yet people still ride them in rain or water. That's how you break them!
Q: What advice would you give to someone who is interested in getting into e-skateboarding for the first time?
A: There is only 2 types eskaters. Ones who already fell of their board and ones who will fall off in the future. So gear up and protect yourself.
Q: What role do you see e-skateboarding playing in the future of urban transportation and mobility?
A: Well, I live in the suburbs. It's hard to go from places to places without a car, especially for kids who can't drive yet. I see this as a great transportation tool in the suburban areas as well.
Q: How do you balance pushing yourself to try new things with staying safe and avoiding injuries?
I would say 95% of the time, I would be staying safe and trying dangerous things. and 5% of the time, I would try new and dangerous things under a controlled environment such as ramps but I would only do it on grass to minimize risk of getting injured.
Q: What are your expectations or suggestions for the electric skateboard industry?
A) Better battery efficiency in the future B) more LED and App integration C) Cheaper products.
